Mineral Turpentine

Mineral Turpentine is clear colourless petroleum solvent with distinctive odour. Manufactured by the distillation of crude oil. Mineral Turpentine is one of the most common and widely used solvents available. It is more effective at degreasing than white spirit and has a stronger odour due to it's higher aromatic hydrocarbon content.

These are just some of the most common uses:

• Degreasing and cleaning solvent especially in engineering and automotive workshops.Use by spray, dip or wipe application.
• In the manufacture of oil based paints and varnishes. Also used as a compatible thinning or clean-up solvent for these coatings.
• Removing tar and bitumen from painted surfaces, metals, some plastics etc.

Methylated Spirits

Also known as denatured alcohol, methylated spirits is for the most part just plain alcohol (ethyl alcohol). The main additive is 10% methanol, but it may also include isopropyl alcohol, acetone, methyl ethyl ketone or other substances.

Uses for methylated spirits:

- It's great as a glass cleaner! If you're going to use it in hot conditions, dilute it with water.

- Methylated spirits can be used to remove ink stains from upholstery or clothes

- Remove permanent marker from pvc plastics. 

- As a solvent for thinning paint

- For cleaning paint brushes as an alternative to fossil fuel based solvents

- As a general metal cleaner

- For removing stickers and sticker residue from car windscreens

- To clean bike disc brakes

- Cleaning electronics
